Price corridor from Agenzy's August 2026 scan of about 100 GEO providers; illustration by Agenzy, no text in the image.
A credible GEO agency retainer costs 1,500 to 3,500 EUR a month for a small business and 3,000 to 8,000 EUR a month for mid-market work, and that middle band overlaps in Germany, the UK, France and the US. Premium specialists charge 7,000 to 20,000 EUR a month.
The figures come from Agenzy's scan of about 100 providers across the US, the UK, DACH, France, Southern and Eastern Europe and the Baltics in August 2026.
Below about 1,000 EUR a month the offer is mostly monitoring, a dashboard over a fixed prompt set and a report, with pages written only as an exception. A one-off GEO audit converges on 1,500 to 5,000 USD in the same scan, and a specialist hourly rate on 100 to 250 USD. Scope moves the number more than country does: prompts tracked, engines measured, pages shipped, mentions earned and markets covered.
All prices are before VAT unless stated, as read in August 2026. Where the scan found no band figure in a currency, the cell says "not read" and no figure was converted.
Segment | EUR a month | GBP a month | USD a month | What the money buys |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Monitoring and diagnostics | not read | under 500 | 350 to 1,500 | A dashboard, 5 to 100 tracked prompts, a report; pages only as an exception |
Solo or boutique floor | 1,000 to 2,000 | not read | 1,000 to 1,500 | One specialist, technical fixes, a few pages |
SMB done-for-you | 1,500 to 3,500 | 1,250 to 2,950 | not read | Tracked prompts, a technical first month, pages every month |
Mid-market core | 3,000 to 8,000 | 3,000 to 8,000 | 3,000 to 8,000 | More prompts and engines, several markets, third-party mentions |
Premium specialist | 7,000 to 20,000 | 5,000 to 20,000 (London estimate) | 8,000 to 20,000 | A team extension with its own experiments |
Enterprise | about 17,500 (German public tenders) | not read | 10,000 to 50,000 | Multi-country programs bought through procurement |

Six price bands from about 100 providers, Agenzy scan, August 2026, prices before VAT.
Small business in this table means one market and under about 50 staff; NeuRank, for one, aims its entry tier at companies with 1 to 50 staff. Mid-market means several markets or product lines to defend, whatever the headcount. Enterprise means the program is bought through procurement. A company with 5 to 50 million EUR in revenue and two or three markets usually lands in the mid-market core. Agenzy's 1,800 EUR plan sits at the floor of the SMB done-for-you band.
Why the published GEO pricing guides disagree
Published GEO pricing guides disagree because each one is written by a seller quoting its own neighborhood. Digital Elevator opens with 2,000 to 10,000 USD a month and sources it to three other providers' pages. AEO Vision's listicle puts retainers at 2,500 to 15,000 USD or more, with European programs from about 1,000 to 25,000 EUR. GrowPad says meaningful European retainers start at 3,000 EUR a month. Omniscient's own engagements start at 10,000 USD a month.
Four pages, four answers; one says how many agencies it lists and none says which of its prices were read on the provider's own page. So we counted. Eight research sweeps in August 2026 checked about 100 named providers and tagged every number as verified on the provider's own page, reported by a third party, or estimated. Only verified figures appear with a name in this post. Reported figures appear as a band with no name attached.
Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the work of getting a brand named and cited when a buyer asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews or Perplexity for a recommendation. It covers crawler access, page structure, the pages that answer buyer questions and the third-party sources the engines already trust. Answer engine optimization (AEO) is the same work under a second name, so AEO pricing and GEO agency pricing describe one market.
GEO agency prices by country
GEO agency prices by country follow one pattern: the mid-market band overlaps in Germany, the UK, France and the US, and the verifiable anchors sit in the UK and German boutique tiers, because established agencies hide prices and AI-native boutiques publish them. Every named price in this section links to the page that states it.

Retainer bands by segment in each currency's own units with no conversion, from Agenzy's August 2026 scan of about 100 GEO providers.
The UK GEO agency cost splits into monitoring under 500 GBP, delivery from about 1,250 to 2,950 GBP and authority work from 5,000 GBP. NeuralAdX publishes four tiers at 450, 1,250, 5,000 and 10,000 GBP a month plus VAT. Tilio's managed program runs from 499, 1,750 and 4,250 GBP a month on a 30-day rolling term for the first two levels. MarGen prices its retainers at 2,950, 5,950 and from 12,950 GBP a month, and its own read of the UK market puts audits at 1,500 to 5,000 GBP.
In Germany, where the buyer types "GEO Agentur Kosten", NeuRank publishes a GEO audit from 490 EUR and monthly support from 890 EUR, aimed at companies with 1 to 50 staff. Wescript charges 1,980 EUR net a month plus a 1,490 EUR setup fee on a 12-month term. Gerlach Media starts ongoing GEO work at 2,500 EUR a month, with a 3,500 EUR one-off audit.
Radyant in Berlin sits at the top of the German market: a Growth Partnership from 7,000 EUR a month on a 12-month commitment with an opt-out after six months, and fixed projects from 10,000 EUR. German public buyers pay more than any published agency tier. Radyant's cost guide reads the AOK-Bundesverband tender at 840,000 EUR over four years, about 17,500 EUR a month. That is a procurement figure for organic visibility in AI engines, and it marks the enterprise ceiling.
In the US, WebFX lists GEO services at 3,000 USD a month. Embarque publishes 1,500, 2,800, 5,200 and 10,000 USD a month on 3, 6 or 12 month terms paid quarterly. Omniscient Digital's organic growth engagements start at 10,000 USD a month on its own GEO agencies page. The large US shops mostly publish no GEO price; their Clutch minimums of 50,000 USD and up are the only public number, so the US premium band in our scan is reported, with no name attached.
France is the most structured market in the scan and the hardest to link to. The mid-market band reads 4,000 to 6,000 EUR a month, six-month minimums are the norm and a standalone schema audit runs 1,800 to 4,500 EUR. No French agency in the scan printed those figures on a public pricing page, so they appear here as reported bands with no name attached.
Remote European specialists price on the vertical they serve, whatever the country. Discovered Labs, which sells to B2B SaaS, publishes 6,995 and 10,995 EUR a month, month to month, with a 4,370 EUR one-off diagnostic credited against the first retainer month. GrowPad lists itself at 3,000 USD a month and up, with an entry from 1,000 EUR for EU startups, on its own listicle.
Lithuania is the floor of the map. Visible domestic "AI SEO" offers run 100 to 1,000 EUR a month in our scan, an order of magnitude below Western Europe, and the lowest tiers sell a few hours of consulting a month. Latvia and Estonia showed no productized GEO offer at all in August 2026.
What does the price buy at each level?
What is included in a GEO retainer comes down to five scope levers, and the price rises with each one: the number of buyer prompts tracked, the number of AI engines measured, the pages written each month, the third-party mentions earned, and the markets covered. Two offers can only be compared once both are written onto those five lines.

What a GEO retainer month contains, from the tracked prompts to the monthly report; source: Agenzy service model.
Under about 1,000 EUR a month, a retainer is mostly monitoring. NeuralAdX's 450 GBP tier tracks 5 prompts and its 1,250 GBP tier tracks 15, on its pricing page. Tilio's 499 GBP level tracks 50 to 100 prompts on three engines and adds content only from the 1,750 GBP level. A dashboard tells you where you stand, and the pages that get cited still have to be written by someone.
At the SMB done-for-you band, 1,500 to 3,500 EUR a month, the first month is technical and the pages start in the second. The technical month, in the order that matters, opens robots.txt to the AI crawlers, checks server-side and CDN bot blocking, adds schema markup and fixes page structure, with llms.txt last. From month two the fee pays for pages written to answer the tracked buyer questions, plus a monthly report of which prompts moved.
At the mid-market core, 3,000 to 8,000 EUR a month, the same work widens. More prompts, more engines, a second market or language, and someone whose job is earning mentions on the review sites, comparison pages and Reddit threads the engines already cite. Tilio's 4,250 GBP level, for example, adds brand accuracy corrections and lists 12 to 35 content pieces a month on its pricing page.
At the premium band, 7,000 EUR a month and up, you are buying a team. Radyant's partnership page lists hands-on team extension, attribution setup, programmatic content engines and dedicated AI search experiments. Enterprise GEO pricing, 10,000 USD a month and up, buys a multi-year program: the AOK tender runs four years through procurement.
Retainer or one-off project: which should you buy?
A one-off GEO project fixes what blocks the engines and leaves the visibility work undone. A monthly retainer is the only format in which tracked prompts move, because the pages that get cited are written and measured month by month. Buy the one-off when the site is closed to AI crawlers and nothing else is budgeted. Buy the retainer when the goal is to be named on buyer questions.
A one-time project has a clear shape on the market. Radyant prices fixed projects from 10,000 EUR for bulk optimization of legacy content, a programmatic content initiative or a visibility assessment, on its pricing page. Discovered Labs sells a 4,370 EUR diagnostic. Gerlach's 3,500 EUR audit delivers an analysis and a prioritised list of next steps. All three end with a document or a batch of fixes, and then the engines keep answering buyer questions with whatever sources they trusted before.
What the one-off leaves undone is the part that compounds. In the Outcraft engagement, visibility only jumped after the August content batch, three months after the month-one crawler unblock had made the site readable (case study).
Some agencies bridge the two with a credited audit. MarGen credits its 2,950 GBP audit in full against the first retainer month. Discovered Labs credits its diagnostic if you sign within 14 days. If you are unsure about a provider, that structure lets you buy the diagnosis first and decide on the program with the findings in hand.
What does a GEO audit cost?
A one-off GEO audit costs 1,500 to 5,000 USD in Agenzy's August 2026 scan, with Germany running 500 to 3,500 EUR and the UK 2,000 to 10,000 GBP. Three verified anchors sit inside that corridor, Gerlach at 3,500 EUR, MarGen at 2,950 GBP and Discovered Labs at 4,370 EUR; NeuRank's 490 EUR audit sits below it.

Audit corridors from Agenzy's August 2026 scan; provider prices as published on each provider's own pricing page.
What you should get for that money is a measured baseline: which buyer prompts the engines answer, which brands they name, which sources they cite, and whether your site is readable to the crawlers at all. Agenzy runs that visibility audit free before any engagement, on 30 buyer prompts across three engines within 48 hours, so the baseline conversation happens before a contract exists.
What are the hidden costs to ask about?
The hidden costs in GEO agency pricing are setup fees, long terms, tool seats billed on top, prompt caps, content caps, engines left uncounted and paid placements sold as earned mentions. Each one is on a public page somewhere, so each one is a question you can ask before signing.
Setup fees and terms come first. Wescript adds a 1,490 EUR setup fee to its 1,980 EUR monthly price and runs 12-month contracts. Radyant asks for 12 months with an opt-out after six. MarGen's 5,950 GBP tier carries a 12-month minimum. Embarque bills quarterly on 3, 6 or 12 month terms. All four structures are common on the market, and a 12-month term at 1,980 EUR still totals 23,760 EUR plus setup, which is the number to compare.

Wescript's published price, 1,980 EUR net a month plus a 1,490 EUR setup fee on a 12-month term, as read in August 2026.
Tool seats are the second line. Radyant's cost guide lists Peec AI from 70 EUR a month on annual billing, and the other trackers it names sit in the same range. Ask whether the tracking tool is inside the fee or billed on top, and who owns the data when the contract ends.
Caps are the third. A tier that tracks 5 prompts measures five buyer questions and nothing else. A tier that writes two pages a month at 3,000 EUR is paying 1,500 EUR a page. A tier that measures ChatGPT alone leaves Gemini and Google AI Overviews uncounted, and the same buyer can get a different answer on each. Ask for the prompt count, the engine list and the page count in writing, and ask what the tier does when a tracked prompt has no page behind it.
Paid placements are the fourth. Third-party mentions move visibility, and some of them can be bought: sponsored listicle entries, paid articles, bought Reddit comments. Ask which mentions are earned inside the fee and which are paid placements billed separately. Ask the same about guarantees. NeuralAdX attaches a citation-doubling guarantee to its 5,000 GBP tier, limited to clients accepted after assessment and to six consecutive paid months, on its pricing page.
Is GEO worth the money for a small business?
GEO is worth the money for a small business when its buyers already ask an AI engine before they buy, and the test is one question to existing customers: did you check ChatGPT before choosing us? If they say no, GEO is a cost with no return, and the honest advice is to wait. If they say yes, the room to grow is large.
How large: the median European SMB brand appears in just 5% of AI answers about its own product category (n=90 tracked market projects, 2026-04 to 2026-08), per our European AI search visibility study.
Three smaller purchases exist below the retainer floor, and each does one job. A technical one-off opens robots.txt to the AI crawlers, checks bot blocking at the server and CDN, fixes schema markup and page structure, and ships llms.txt last as a courtesy. Ahrefs found that of about 38,000 domains with a valid file, 97% received zero requests for it in May 2026. It makes the site readable and stops there.
A tracking-only month measures a fixed prompt set across the engines and reports what moved. It is the right buy when the team already publishes well and wants to know whether its pages are being picked up. It is the wrong buy when nobody is writing, because a dashboard over an empty pipeline measures nothing. A paid working session hands the method to an in-house team so it improves the numbers itself.
Below about 1,000 EUR a month, read the scope before the label. Most published offers at that price in our scan are monitoring or diagnostic tiers, and every option here is smaller than a retainer because the fee cannot cover writing and measuring pages every month below the floor.
How to compare two GEO offers
To compare two GEO offers, rewrite both onto the five scope levers, prompts tracked, engines measured, pages per month, third-party mentions and markets covered, then multiply each monthly price by its term, add any setup fee and put the total under them. Two offers that look 40% apart on price often look identical, or reversed, once the lines are filled in.
A worked example from two published UK ladders. NeuralAdX's 1,250 GBP tier tracks 15 prompts. Tilio's 1,750 GBP level tracks 100 to 150 prompts on three engines and lists 6 to 20 content pieces a month. Dividing each monthly price by the lowest prompt count its tier lists, NeuralAdX's tier costs about 83 GBP per tracked prompt and Tilio's about 17.50 GBP. That arithmetic ignores what each agency does per prompt, so treat it as a sanity check, and it still shows how far a headline price can mislead.
Five questions then close the gap between the offer and the invoice:
What is the tracked prompt count, and who writes the prompts? The prompts are the measurement, so a set written from your Google Search Console data, a conversation with your salespeople and the forums where buyers ask questions beats a set written from your homepage.
Which engines are measured, and which one is your buyer on? ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews are the standard set. Claude tracking is usually a paid add-on and Perplexity is added case by case, so ask which engines sit inside the fee.
What ships in month one, and what ships from month two? A first month of technical work followed by pages is the normal shape. A first month of pages on a site the crawlers cannot read is wasted.
What is the term and the setup fee, and what is the total? Multiply the monthly price by the term and add the setup fee before comparing anything.
What happens at month three? A dated before-and-after report on the tracked prompts is the minimum. A provider who cannot say what the report will contain has not decided what it is selling.
How each Lithuanian provider handles its own pricing transparency and crawler access is in our ranking of GEO agencies in Lithuania.
What does Agenzy charge?
Agenzy's GEO plans start at 1,800 EUR a month plus VAT on a six-month term, covering 50 buyer prompts tracked daily across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, a technical first month, and GEO articles written to be retrieved and cited from month two. Custom plans for more markets, prompts or content are scoped on the audit call. Every plan is a fixed monthly fee.
Month one opens the site to the AI crawlers, checks bot blocking at the server and CDN, adds schema and fixes page structure. It also sets up measurement: AI-channel traffic in analytics, visibility on the tracked prompts, and a "how did you find us" question in the client's own sales flow. Month two starts the pages aimed at the buyer questions where the brand is missing. Month three ends with a before-and-after report on the tracked prompts.
Is there a guarantee? No, and the service page says so. What the fee buys is every known signal that raises citation probability, implemented on the site, with the visibility tracked in the open every month. A free AI visibility audit on 30 buyer prompts across three engines runs before any engagement, so the baseline exists before the contract does.
Against the corridor, 1,800 EUR sits at the top of the solo and boutique band and at the bottom of the SMB done-for-you band, below the 2,000 USD and 3,000 EUR floors that Digital Elevator and GrowPad name. Paid placements inside ChatGPT are a separate budget line and a separate service.
How long until a GEO retainer shows results?
Most Agenzy clients see measurable changes in AI citation frequency within 6 to 12 weeks, and by month three there is a before-and-after report on the tracked prompts, as stated on the service page. The documented case is Outcraft: 0.25% visibility in the week of 2026-05-18 to 11.9% in the week of 2026-08-24, a 14-week window, measured daily in Peec AI across 100 non-branded prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.
Two honest limits sit inside that number. Outcraft started with robots.txt blocking GPTBot, ClaudeBot, CCBot and Google-Extended, so part of the rise is the site becoming readable at all, and a site that is already open should expect a smaller jump from a higher base. Speed also differs by engine: in our European study the median brand shows a 5.1x visibility gap between its best and worst AI engine, and 30% of visible brands were invisible on at least one engine (n=86 brands visible somewhere).
The three-month mark is the decision point. If the tracked prompts have not moved by then, either the prompt set or the pages are wrong, and a good provider says which. Visibility that moves in a second country is a separate question, covered in our guide to GEO across European markets.
FAQ
How much does a GEO agency cost per month?
A GEO agency costs 1,500 to 3,500 EUR a month for a small business and 3,000 to 8,000 EUR a month for mid-market work, with premium specialists at 7,000 to 20,000 EUR and enterprise programs at 10,000 to 50,000 USD. Those bands come from Agenzy's August 2026 scan of about 100 providers across the US, the UK, DACH, France, Southern and Eastern Europe and the Baltics.
Below about 1,000 EUR a month the offer is mostly monitoring, a dashboard over a fixed prompt set and a report, with pages written only as an exception.
How much does generative engine optimization cost as a one-off?
A one-off GEO audit costs 1,500 to 5,000 USD in the same August 2026 scan, with German audits at 500 to 3,500 EUR and UK audits at 2,000 to 10,000 GBP. Fixed implementation projects run higher: Radyant prices them from 10,000 EUR. A specialist hourly rate is 100 to 250 USD.
Is GEO worth the money for a small business?
GEO is worth the money for a small business when its buyers already ask AI engines before they buy, which is true for researched purchases and rarely true for impulse ones. Ask existing customers whether they checked ChatGPT before choosing you. If they did, a 1,500 to 3,500 EUR retainer is the price of being in that answer. If they did not, the budget is better spent elsewhere.
GEO retainer vs one-off project, which is better?
A retainer is better when the goal is to be named on buyer questions, because visibility comes from pages that are written, measured and revised month by month. A one-off project is better when the only problem is a site closed to AI crawlers and there is no budget for the rest. A credited audit, where the diagnostic fee counts against the first retainer month, is the middle road several agencies now offer.
What does a GEO agency actually do each month?
Each month a GEO agency tracks a fixed set of buyer prompts across the AI engines, writes or revises the pages that should answer the prompts where the brand is missing, works on the third-party sources the engines cite, and reports which prompts moved. The first month differs: it is technical, opening the site to crawlers, fixing bot blocking, adding schema and setting up measurement, and the pages start from month two.
How long does GEO take to show results?
GEO shows the first measurable changes in citation frequency within 6 to 12 weeks for most Agenzy clients, and a clear before-and-after picture exists by month three. Outcraft moved from 0.25% to 11.9% visibility across 100 non-branded prompts in 14 weeks between May and August 2026, starting from a site the crawlers could not read.
